O'Hare International Airport

Welcome to the Chicago O’Hare International Airport!

O’Hare International Airport (ORD) is located in the northwestern area of Chicago and is the primary airport used in the Chicago area. ORD is the second busiest airport in the US and the fourth busiest airport in the world. It is located 20 miles from downtown Chicago and has connections by train, bus, or car.

Since ORD is such a large airport, make sure you arrive early as the security check can take longer than expected. It is also very passenger friendly with signs to help you navigate your way throughout with easily accessible gates. ORD has four terminals with three of them serving both domestic and international flights and one terminal serving international flights only.

Passenger Services

O’Hare International Airport offers a variety of foods and restaurants including a Starbucks around every corner. ORD supplies Power Stations for the convenience of their customers as well as free Wi-Fi throughout the entire airport. These areas have spaces and outlets to recharge laptops, cell phones, and other electronic devices at no cost to the traveler and are located throughout all terminals.

Other services and facilities the airport offers include: ATMS/cash machines, car rentals, chapel, charging stations, children’s play area, children’s museum, cots, currency exchange, health club, information desk, luggage storage and lockers, showers, and a yoga room.

Trains from the Blue Line of the Chicago Transit terminate at the airport from an underground station, accessible from Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Trains run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing connection via downtown Chicago to Forest Park. Road vehicles enter and exit via I-190, which branches off I-90 leading to downtown Chicago. Cars may also access the airport locally from Mannheim Road, the airport's eastern boundary.  Taxi and limo services also provide transportation and fares vary based on traffic.

If your flight is delayed/canceled or you’re planning to stay the night for any reason, there are three hotels near the airport: Hyatt Regency, Raddison Hotel O'Hare and Quality Inn and Suites Elk Grove Village/O'Hare.
