Guest Reviews
We stayed in this hotel last year so we knew what to expect. The room was as nice as last year, but we took it as one night sleep before our flight, so were OK with it. Lady at reception was very helpful. She wrote down # of people needing the shuttle the following morning as well as the time we will be leaving. We were the only ones. Upon our return (March 14, 2020) the shuttle came very fast (can't remember ever happening it like this) and the driver was super friendly, helpful and very informative on the current situation.
Staff was not the most welcoming, back door goass was proped open all evening and glass was broke not giving you the most safe feeling and we were first room inside that door. There was a broken appliance that sat in the back entryway the entire night. Bugs swarmed the lights die to open door and there was a former hotel name sign laying against our window that looked into a junk storage yard. I would have never booked this hotel with children had I known all this- reviews weren’t a great indication to actual reality. Worst hotel I think I’ve ever booked. Shuttle back I called 4:12 getting off plan and she said I had to call back once I was at the bus shuttle center. At 4:12 she knew we would need a shuttle. I called again 4:26 and we had to wait until 4:49 for the shuttle to arrive. After dropping off another person, we didn’t even arrive back until 5:14, an hour after landing!! Ridiculous as the park n fly is supposed to be easier than parking at the airport. Only positive- our shuttle to the airport was there 10-15 mins early which is the only positive.
Great location next to an excellent family restaurant
The hotel is average, the rooms adequate, the restaurant very good, the shuttle service is terrible. waited for an hour and 45 mins. to be picked up at O'hare.
Rooms Are Dated and the Girl at the front desk was not to helpful
The hotel is a little rundown, but the beds are still soft and comfortable, and the service is great. The staff were very nice, and the shuttle driver was excellent. Well worth it for a quick sleep and parking.
Nice for the money. Website says 24 hour shuttle service. It is NOT. My flight was delayed and I didn't get in till 2 am. I had to pay for an uber or wait till 5 am for their shuttle. Will defiantly research more next time I fly.
Not recommended. There is no 24 hour shuttle despite what this website says. We arrived at 2:30 AM and had to take an Uber. There was also a mixup about which night we were staying and which night our car was parked. In our room (which we finally got to at 3:30AM because there was no shuttle...) there was someone else's phone charger left behind. All the furniture and bed felt old and beat up, lots of scuff marks on everything. On the plus side the receptionist was nice, and she said we could stay late until 12:30PM for free because of the shuttle inconvenience, but then housekeeping came in at 11AM and woke us up and then the day receptionist called us again at 11:20 because our late departure had not been communicated to her. Definitely choose a different park, sleep, fly hotel for O'Hare, even if it costs more.
Was very disappointed...we were suppose to be picked up from the airport. Our flight was delayed 2 hours and we tried calling to be picked up more one would answer the phone.. it was suppose to be a 24/7 shuttle that's why we booked there. We ended up having to get a taxi which cost 30$ ..when we got back to the hotel the lady at the counter was rude. She told us they don't have shuttles all day and that she didn't know why it says that..we wouldn't of booked it if wasn't 24/7 pick up..we feel that we should of gotten out 30$ back for having to get a taxi..would not recommend this hotel to anyone..
Rooms were ok,
The hotel had a funky odor and the walls were paper thin. If you are a light sleeper like me, this hotel is not for you. I layed awake for hours listening to the neighbor's conversations at midnight and then their loud snoring. It was very unrestful. There were also kids smoking weed at the back door when we left, walked right thru their smoke cloud. As far as the shuttle service, I have mixed emotions. They say 24 hours but it's a stretch. We needed to get to the airport at 4am. When we came down to the front desk the lady said the shuttle guy had gone home hours ago and she was trying to get us a cab that could accommodate our luggage (4 ppl). We waited about 20 min. She did give us a voucher to pay for the cab though. On our flight in, we told them we land at 12:20 (after midnight). Our flight was delayed and we didn't get in till 1:30am. I called the hotel like I was told. Again I was told the driver had just went home. She told me she left me a voicemail at 1am and then sent the driver home!! I was seriously irritated. You can't tell me that an airport hotel hasn't dealt with delayed flights?!? The front desk lady said she would page the driver or call us a cab. She called me back in about 5 minutes and said we were "lucky" since the driver wasn't home yet. We had to go thru the airport and the shuttle was there by the time we walked out. The driver was a very nice guy. So that was refreshing. Overall, the shuttle service worked out for us but it wasn't as smooth as it could have been. The staff was nice but at some points made me feel like they were doing me a favor by getting us the services that are suppose to be included. The hotel rooms weren't bad but the funky odor and thin walls made it very uncomfortable for me. My friends all slept well for the most part even with the thin walls. I'm a light sleeper.
There were three major problems with my experience. 1) Although I had reserved a non-smoking room, they had all been given away by the time I arrived, so I was put in a smoking room. It initially made me nauseated and gave me a headache, but after a while I was able to settle down enough to get a few hours of sleep. 2) I did not receive the wake-up call that I requested. Thus the clerk did not call my room until the shuttle driver was already there, and since the driver had a pick-up at another hotel he was threatening to leave unless I got down in just a few minutes. I took a total of six minutes to wake up, get back into the clothes I had worn the previous day, toss everything into my suitcase and computer bag, and get down to the lobby. 3) When I returned to O'Hare and called for shuttle return, I was told that the van was in the shop, and I would have to wait two hours. Because of time constraints I could not wait so I took a cab from the airport. I went into the lobby with the cab receipt to request compensation. The clerk (Monica) put me on the phone to her superior (Maria), who refused my request.
Good
The hotel was a basic cheap hotel but did everything we needed it to. It was clean and the staff was friendly. There was a miscommunication about the airport shuttle but the staff was kind enough to fix it for us.
The room was clean, coffee was great and the staff was wonderful and very accommodating!
Vicki that works at the front desk was wonderful and very helpful to my granddaughter. She had a horrible day at the airports and when she got to the hotel everyone made her feel very comfortable. The shuttle driver was very nice also. Thank you.
This hotel was horrible, awful, and terrible. My problems (and there were many) started with this hotel when I called from the airport to arrange a shuttle pick-up. When I gave the clerk, Vicki, my name she said that she had no reservation listed for me. I told her that I had made the reservation over three weeks ago and a Maria had taken the reservation. Maria was called and she did not recall taking the reservation. The clerk assured me that they had rooms and she would send a driver to pick me up. Well, the driver took about 50 minutes to come pick me up from the airport. When I finally arrived at the hotel, I was utterly disappointed. The hotel looked old and run down; the lobby smelled of smoke, the carpet was dirty, no elevator & the clerk, Vicki, was not friendly. She told me that she found my reservation—it was listed under my first name. She wasn't pleasant at all- she didn’t bother telling me anything about the hotel; such as breakfast hours or nearby places that I could get something to eat. Upon checking into my room, on the 2nd floor, I was immediately met by the overwhelming smell of urine, smoke, and dirty carpet. I immediately called down to Vicki to change rooms, which was granted. The room that I changed to wasn’t much of an improvement—the bathroom was tiny, the sink had a slow drain, the furniture was worn, the one chair was dirty, the ironing board didn’t have a pad on which to iron, the blanket on one of the beds had a cigarette burn in it and the room didn’t even have an alarm clock nor a do not disturb sign to put on the door. Another problem was trying to get connected to the internet. I told Vicki and she said she would contact the service support team. After a few minutes Vicki knocked on my door and asked if I heard my phone ring. I told her ‘no’ and moments later she checked my phone, which was disconnected. One positive, the service support team, did help me get connected. Later that day (still in day one), I lost the connection to the internet and again the service support team had to be contacted. Again, they were able to assist in a positive way. The next day, I had called a taxi service to confirm an appointment that I had made with them the day prior. They told me that they had called the front desk to cancel because they could not travel that far. Well, the front desk never bothered calling my room to give me the message. Instead, they took it upon themselves to call a taxi company that they deal with regularly to come pick me up; they are probably in cahoots with one another. The taxi service the hotel uses cost $10 more that the taxi service I would have used. In my travels, I have stayed at many hotels, and this was by far the WORSE! NEVER AGAIN!
hotel employees were superrrrr friendly and rooms were good. no problems at all
better directions as how to find the shuttle at the airport to go back and pick up our car. We were going in circles and getting frustrated and then met a person who worked for one of the airlines who was going to the same area so we followed him or we would have missed our shuttle.
This worked wonders for us! After all these years of driving to, and flying out of Chicago, this is the very first time trying the parksleepfly, and we will continue using it from now on. We highly recommend it to all!
